Dr. Hanif Ishani – Chiropractor – Clinic Director

Dr. Hanif Ishani completed his Doctorate of Chiropractic at the National University of Health Sciences in Lombard Illinois. As well as previously completing a double major in Biology and Economics at the University of Toronto. Dr. Ishani has been practicing Chiropractic for over 15 years, during which time he has furthered his education by completing a postgraduate diploma at McMaster University Contemporary Medical Acupuncture as a medical acupuncturist, as well as courses in kineso-taping. In addition to working Dr. Ishani enjoys playing various sports as well as spending time with his wife and 2 kids
Dr. Vanita Bali

Dr Vanita Bali – Chiropractor

Dr. Vanita Bali has been a chiropractor for the last 15 years. She went to the University of Western Ontario and graduated with a Bsc. in Biology with a minor in Zoology. She then attended the National College of Chiropractic in Chicago, where she earned her Doctorate in Chiropractic and Health Sciences. Upon her return to Canada she worked in various clinical settings specializing in musculoskeletal issues, rehabilitation, acupuncture and pre and post natal care. Outside of the office Dr Bali has a passion for sports, traveling and yoga. Most of the time though she is running around chasing her 2 small kids, and her hubby!

Nilu Mahavitane – Registered Physiotherapist

Nilu Mahavitane graduated with her B.PhE. from University of Toronto and completed her Masters in Physiotherapy at McMaster University immediately after that. Hailing from the Scarborough area, Nilu takes pride in her professionalism and people skills, giving exceptional care to each patient on an individual level. Her hobbies include volleyball and swimming, as well as spending time with her husband and two boys.

Rani Poothullil – Registered Physiotherapist

Rani Poothullil has completed her Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy at Rajiv Ghandhi University in India in 2002 and came to Canada and completed her registration and licensing with the Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators in 2009. Before she joined Body Works in 2009, she worked in various clinical settings gaining valuable knowledge and experience in physiotherapy. Aside from her successful profession as a Physiotherapist, she also is a certified Yoga Instructor, which she tries to integrate into her physiotherapy practice. She actively participates in a badminton group and well as getting her exercise looking after her busy 2 daughters and husband.

Susan Loi – Registered Physiotherapist

Susan Loi graduated from University of Toronto with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. She previously attended McMaster University, receiving her Degree of Bachelor of Kinesiology Honours. After completing her Masters, Susan worked as a physiotherapist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and Toronto General Hospital where she treated patients from the cardiac, vascular, multi-organ, trauma, ENT and medical surgery units. Susan now practices at Brimley Physiotherapy working with patients recovering from motor vehicle accidents, post operative surgery, repetitive strain and work related injuries. Susan maintains an active lifestyle by running, biking, going to the gym and playing badminton and volleyball. Susan's athletic background and experiences in the private clinic and hospital setting allows her to understand the importance of physical rehabilitation and fitness for optimal functional mobility and quality of life.

Shabnam Khan has completed her Bachelors of Physiotherapy from India, having keen interest in Musculoskeletal injuries. Shabnam, pursued her Masters in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy from United Kingdom. She has also completed her Ontario Internationally educated Physiotherapists Bridging Program at the University of Toronto after immigrating to Canada. Having studied in different international institutions has given her a better understanding of the different healthcare systems and wide exposures to various Physiotherapy treatment approaches and impairments encountered in day to day practice. Shabnam has over 7 years of clinical experience as a Physiotherapist. She is fully licensed Physiotherapist with the College of Physiotherapists. During her spare time she enjoys learning new languages and understanding different cultures as well as enjoying reading and listening to music.

Rutva Mamtora – Registered Kinesiologist / Office Manager

Rutva Mamtora has completed her Bachelors in Kinesiology of Applied Health science from University of Waterloo. She has over 5 years of experience in the field. She has been working with the Bodyworks Physiotherapy franchise as a registered Kinesiologist since 2010. Rutva is also an active member of Ontario Kinesiology Association (OKA). Along with various therapies, she also has a very good understanding of therapeutic products such as Orthotics, Compression stockings and bracing. She strongly believes in continuing education to better serve the community; therefore, she is pursuing her studies in the field of Homeopathy at the Ontario College of Homeopathic Medicine.. Rutva loves to travel and explore different countries and their cultures. She is fluent in English, Gujarati and Hindi, and can understand Punjabi and Urdu.

Megan Zuber – Physical Therapist Assistant / Office Manager

Megan Zuber graduated from Sir Sandford Fleming College in Peterborough with her diploma of Physical Therapist Assistant/Occupational Therapist Assistant program in 2008. On top of maintaining updated CPR, Megan has also taken many courses on office management, time management, orthotic ordering and billing, and FSCO guideline training. While she loves the hands on work as a PTA, Megan also enjoys managing the office side. She lives in Oshawa with her husband and cocker spaniel.

Rina Garcia – Registered Massage Therapist

Rina Gaca graduated from Medix college in 2012 and got her license in July 2013. Rina is a Registered massage therapist who is committed to providing safe and effective treatment for each patient. Rina is interested in learning about your goals for developing a treatment plan that is suited to your lifestyle and helps you alleviate your pain. Rina's specialty is swedish massage. This type of massage can be used as the foundation for deep tissue treatment in breaking up adhesions within the muscular system and increase circulation to aid in healing. Swedish Massage also provide relaxation for tense muscles. She is also knowledgeable in Positional Release technique, Indian Head Massage,Thai Massage, and Cranio-Sacral Release technique. Rina also earned her Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy in the Philippines and worked there for 4 years. During her free time, she spends it with her husband and daughter. She also loves too cook and bake.

Eva graduated from the Royal Institute of Science and Management as a Registered Massage Therapist. She has been working for 3 years as an RMT in various settings which has allowed her to gain a unique understanding of treatment styles. Eva enjoys swimming, yoga and running in her spare time.

Dumitru Tornea is a Registered Massage Therapist that hails from Moldova, now residing in the Toronto area. He completed his degree at Humber College, graduating with honor’s and the president's award. He specializes in deep tissue, swedish, sports, hot stone, pre-natal and connective tissue massage therapy. He lives with his with his wife and two children, and enjoys music, sports and reading in his spare time.

Donna Guzman – PTA / Administrative Staff

Donna Guzman is the PTA/Administrative Staff at Body Works Physiotherapy since January of 2015. She received her Degree in Physiotherapy at St.Jude College in the Philippines. While waiting for her registration as a Physiotherapist here in Canada she is currently working as a Physiotherapy Assistant. She has more than 8 years of clinical setting experience. As part of her continuing education she has completed courses in Applying Psychology in Physiotherapy and The Shoulder Complex here in Toronto. She also has certification in First Aid Training with CPR/AED for Healthcare Professionals . Aside from her busy schedule of working and studying she makes sure to spend time with her kids and husband. She also enjoys group exercise programs such as Zumba and Yoga. She believes that promoting healthy lifestyles to others should start inside the home with your family.

Clarissa de Leon – Certified Chiropodist/Foot specialist

Clarissa completed her Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Cell Biology at the University of Western Ontario and graduated with Dean’s Honour Roll status in 2006. She continued her post-university studies at The Michener Institute for Applied Sciences in the Chiropody program graduating with a Diploma in Podiatric Medicine in 2010. Throughout the program she has developed a special interest in diabetic foot care, surgery, and biomechanics. Clarissa strives to provide optimal patient care by implementing a patient-centered collaborative approach to treatment and education. She is committed to educating the public about Chiropody and its importance and benefits in achieving a healthy lifestyle.
